Motherhood is beautiful, but it’s also messy, overwhelming, and sometimes full of guilt. Reading “I Yelled, I Cried, I Healed” by Alena Gomes Rodrigues reminded me that I’m not alone — and that healing is always possible.

This book isn’t about perfect parenting — it’s about breaking cycles, finding calm in the chaos, and choosing healing for ourselves and our children. 🌸

If you’re a mom who sometimes feels tired, guilty, or just not enough (don’t we all?), I can’t recommend this book enough. It’s a reminder that we can heal, grow, and love deeply — even in our imperfections.

I recently completed the Zen Supermom programme and read this book as part of that journey. I found the book easy to read and follow and very insightful. The stories are honest and often raw yet relatable. Alena discusses how healing from generation trauma is possible. She shares her own story as well as that of others who have experienced similar challenges and she explains the science and why behind it. This is a great companion to the Zen Supermom programme for those who are ready to take the next step to healing and want to go deeper but could also be used as a stand alone guide. It's one that I'll be going back to again and again.

The book is amazing! After the program I was kind of a passive adopter of everything I learned and now so happy to back to the details of everything, and the style is so nice and easy to read.

Thanks for sharing this book with us. I must admit I haven’t finished it yet, but what I’ve read so far feels like revisiting all my knowledge — presented in such a clear, easy-going, and meaningful way. It gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling as everything just makes sense.

If you are an overwhelmed parent yelling at your children, expecting them to be in control of their emotions when, as an adult, you still cannot keep from yelling or feeling like a failure, this book is for you.

If you do not have children, but you have issues having a good relationship with others in your family and or at work, this book is for you.

Here is a hint, it is not the kids. It is not the other family members or your co-workers. The secret is to look within, and I YELLED, I CRIED, I HEALED is a great guide to help you to discover the coping mechanisms that you have been using and why they are not effective. More importantly, you are introduced to an amazingly simple method to help you act instead of reacting to triggers that have interfered with you living a calm and peaceful life.

The emphasis in the book is for parents to become the parents that they wished they would have had. I do not have children and have found that the same principles work in all aspects of my life and have improved my interactions with others.

I highly recommend this book.
